Wondering what everyone is running for driveshaft loops? Went to Crossville, Tn for ODSS and was told I need to have them when running slicks.

I have DHD's full shields. I would venture to say they are the best available for our trucks and honestly installation was a breeze plus I know they aren't going to fail. I went steel as they were considerably cheaper. On a full out drag truck I could see getting aluminum.

I have the DHD Aluminum on the rear of each shaft and homemade steel loops from a cheap summit kit on the front of each shaft. If you don't want to spend the money on the DHD stuff, the summit kits will work fine with a little modifications. I think James has a thread on here somewhere with some pics on them.

The summit kits won't work on the rear aluminum shaft unless you section them to add a considerable amount of width. They barely fit with the significantly smaller steel shaft.

Zak did the shaft still come out or did it hold?

It happened during a truck pull, when it broke the drive shaft yoke it pushed the slip yoke onto the output shaft and was stuck on there. So drive shaft didn't fall
all the way out, but drive shaft shield was laying in pieces on the ground.

It ripped the 1480 yoke ears right off a custom built 5"x.125" aluminum shaft...
