Ultimately, your looking at the whole system. Manifold pressure takes into account everything, and is where I am tapped. Both on the exhaust and the intake.
If you want to look at the just the turbo, I would tap the top of the up pipes on the exhaust and the outlet on the turbo.[
Thanks. Well said. It really all depends on what you want to monitor. If you your daily driving and just keeping tabs on things then there are certain parameters your gonna want to watch. If your tuning or trying new things or just trying to learn then there are other certain parameters to watch. For example. I'm trying to decide where to put an oil temp sender on my boat engine. Should I put it in the pan and see how hot the oil is coming from the engine? Or should i put it after the oil cooler to see how hot the oil is going straight to the mains? In all reality it doesn't matter what temp is going into the engine if the oil in the pan is over 260. The fact is theres a problem and the pan is the first place to show a sign. Now if ya wanna see how well the oil cooler is working you need another gauge. I could really use a dual needle temp gauge.
