I use a electric 100psi oil pressure Gage. Works fine. I would no want to use a mechanical Gage. If the line comes loose it could fill the cab full of exhaust.

Mike I have a 50psi auto meter Phantom you can have if you need it.

I saw over 70psi with my stocker so might need a 100 :D

100psi fuel or boost? and why? Mechanical or electric? why?

Also thoughts on a 100psi mech oil pressure gauge? as I have one handy...

kthxbye

Gauge doesnt know if its oil or air or boost

use electric and you can log alot of them with EFI and ofcouse what JB said

Use a short piece of tubing then run braided hose to the sensor is what i like to do.....Do a seach there is tons of threads on it

Lots of folks will use the copper tubing and make a pretty coil coming from the drive pressure port. This works great if you NEVER have freezing temperatures.

I did not put the coils in, but ran 1/8" copper tubing with no low spots going back into my up pipe port (think...any moisture can drain back into the uppie) and have still had the DP tube freeze-at this point the gauge will stop reading correctly. It is kind of funny when you can watch the gauge pressure move back and forth like the ice is sliding in the tube, but still not reading correctly.

I would recommend using 1/4" copper tubing (one of the things I need to fix this summer), then connecting to whatever type of gauge you use.

Like Larry, I like the electric unit so I can log it with EFI.

I have the thick plate from Rick (3/16") on my egr port. Would it make any difference if I tap in there or the manifold? Seems like the reading would be more accurate tapped right before the pedastal.

I ran ss tubing straight up from the manifold it is only about 8" long I don't like the idea of a coil for a few reasons

it freezes in the winter
it collects soot and would be a pia to clean
it's not needed , many people have the misconception that the temp is the same as the egt this is not true unless it's flowing thru the tubing. The 6-8 pipe is just needed due to the ambient temp coming off the manifold.

I've been running a drive press gauge for about 3-4 years and never melted any lines , it is probably the best thing you can do to a truck with a vvt it's a real eye opener and will help you optimize your turbo and tuning

I have the ss tube with a coil, so far now problems, but I did change it out last year due to threading (stripped) problems while changing out headers. I'm using the 100psi full sweep elec. fuel pressure gauge.

Call me ghetto but I went to a stealer and got a couple of factory ends and made an extension for the factory oil pressure sensor wire and used a second oil pressure sensor so I could log it as oil pressure with efi and not have to run any new wires. When I get drive pressure where I want or didn't need it I unplug the extension and plug the factory sensor back in. It's a pain to get to the plug if you use it much but I didn't plan on leaving it for good and I had the extra sensor already sooo...:D You just have to put up with the oil light and check gauges light when you're idling or putting around.:)

that's not ghetto I use a spare boost sensor and fuel temp sensor for all sorts of things

I'm running an isspro ev2 100 psi which is really just a 100 psi boost gauge with a different face. I chose it because the use a 5v scale on the sensor so I can log it with efi.
