Ok I am going to be doing a DP gauge here soon. After reading some threads I came to the conclusion I bought the wrong kind of gauge. Lots of people saying to use a electronic gauge and I bought a mechanical gauge. Think I should try and sell it and get the right kind that works the best? Also I has some questions on how to adapt the copper cord to the nylon cord is there some sort of special adapter? If I end up keeping my gauge is there a way to prolong the life on the gauge from fluttering?

Thanks

Derek

Since u have a lb7 I wouldn't worry about a electric gauge

what can you do to change dp besides turbos?

Vvt turbos are where it is most important and after seeing the dp after max effort tuning they still suck.

Search ghetto drive press gauge and u will see all that u need:D

I just used a plain 50psi mechanical guage, ran the copper tubing coiled to plasttic boost line into the guage, worked prettty good for what I needed it for. :)

I dont think 50 PSI gauge would be enough. I went with a 100 PSI.... All my gauges are on the big side though just incase.

I used an electric transmitter so I could see it on the gauge and also log it with EFI through the analog inputs.

I do not know about stock turbos, but with my HTT, I have seen 65 psi of DP at 40 psi plus or minus of boost.

Is 50 PSI enough for a drive pressure guage?

No, you should use a 100 psi, trust me, you'll need it

A boost gauge is what everyone uses correct?

No, a 100psi full sweep electric fuel pressure gauge

Nope, see above post :D

Really? Highest mine has been on my HTT is 50psi DP for 42psi of boost..

then again my housig is a 13cm.

Boost gauge works just fine, be sure to use enough copper tube to dissipate the heat. I've never had one flutter or plug up. Ideally you want your boost and drive pressure to be about the same, in the perfect world you boost exceeds the drive pressure, that is tough to accomplish.
