I am going to install a drive pressure gauge tommorow, I don't want a bouncy needle so I was thinking about welding a bung into the bottom part of the passenger side up-pipe before the bellows. Anyone see any problem with this?

mine is in the passenger side manifold, where you would normally install an egt gauge, am using a 100psi full sweep elect fuel pressure gauge and have no problems with a bouncing needle.

I put my 60psi boost guage on the BD manifold side, and crimped the copper line a little bit, only time I get bouncy needle is when I use the turbine brake.

I welded a bung on my drivers side up-pipe near the turbo, works fine but i do have needle flutter, dosnt bother me much, and im using a cheap Ashcroft industrial gauge. A liquid filled gauge would be the solution. :thumb:

Solution is a snubber in the line. Mechanical or Electronic, the flutter will kill the sensing diaphragm quickly.

A gas or gauge snubber is simply a screen or porous fitting that dampens the pulsation from the gas being measured.

Here is a link to the McMaster-Carr page.

anyone watched what the DP does when The EGR opens....

It drops down to the close to the boost pressure. I installed a egr block and now my drive pressure is usually 15 psi more than boost at wot.

On my drive pressure gauge I put some steel wool in the line. The gaute flutter is completely gone.
