I know alot of people run 30x14 cheater slicks or Toyo proxies or Nitto 420's. One tire that has impressed me on other cars and trucks is the Nitto 555R2 and Nitto NT05R. I thought about trying a set...

I've never ran a Duramax with slicks on all 4 corners, just nitto 420's . I've Drag raced plenty of other cars and trucks and I always preferred to stick the radials over biasply. Radials are more stable and easier to handle
Dont you run them on PYO's? If so what size. I know the pyos are one of the lightest wheels just sucks they are 6.5" wide
No I run them on 16×10 -25 offset 4.5 backspacing bogart race wheels with beadlocks.

If you're wanting to switch to a full slick you'll probably have to jump up in diameter and run something pretty wide
Is your locker in the rear working? Rear end rising on launch? Front end not hitting the bump stop? I run street tires launching on nitrous at 1000hp and can get 1.5 60’s all day
Back stays put the front tends to lift
I have a 3/5 drop on the truck with qa1 shocks

how much toe out in the front end are you running? (if any at all)
how much room do you have between the upper control arm and current tire/whee setup? the more back space you can run, the less leverage the tire has on the steering and the more contact patch you keep on the track from less toe in. hence why guys run toe out
