Does anyone have any good input on what is a good but not crazy expensive helmet? Trying to get a little safer this year with new harness and seat and helmet. Got the seat and harness just need something to keep my head attached now. With the sheet metal dwindling and my rising trap speed I'm hoping to increase my chances of survival in a crash lol.

Snell approved motorcycle helmets are way cheaper than the racing helmets. I got a scorpion Snell approved helmet for around 130 including tax

just an FYI, i would recommend wearing a neck brace when wearing a helmet. thats alot more weight on your neck for G forces to whip your head around should you wreck.

HANS device and head restraints in the seat. Neck roll isn’t going to do much.

I will check it all out, want to be free enough to do what I gotta do with shifting and clutching but don't wanna die lol. Any specific motorcycle helmets you guys use with good visibility?

go into a large dealer that sells dirt bikes and harleys and so on and try a bunch on. its really comes down to comfort and what you feel is too heavy. the neck brace restricts some movement but should have no affect on you shifting and driving that rig. i wore one for years desert racing or in the dunes and you get real use to it real fast.

Make sure to check the date of the snell rating. Make sure that it is dated 2015 or newer as you will get another 5 years of cert time over a 2010 rating and 2005 rated helmets are out of cert and won't pass tech. I've seen some of the older date models come up for cheap so be aware.

Good tip, funny how this stuff works lol. Anything is better than my 17 dollar clearance motocross helmet

Settled on a shoei fs-rs in flat black. 365 on sale at big st charles motorsports for helmet month. They do a sale this time a year. More than I wanted to spend but I'm sure I'll feel safer in it than my mx helmet.

Shoei helmets are nice. Back when I raced motocross that's all I wore. The saying was then you couldn't put a price tag on your head. So cost of a helmet shouldn't even be considered.
