Hope this question fits in this forum....anyways, is it better to get the DPF delete or new exhaust. I have looked up the different specs on both and was just wondering everyone elses experiences of one vs. the other. Furthermore as I am new with diesels I don't even know if my truck has a particulate filter.

If your truck is the 2004 in your sig then it does not have a DPF. Your exhaust does however have a cat.

it is the one in my sig, does it matter that it is the LLY? from 2004? If not then I guess exhaust is the answerI am looking for.

Now I just gotta decide on pipes or stacks

I hope for you that it is the LLY, Great engine! no injector proplems. I would get a 4" turbo downpipe back exhaust. depending on who you are and what you like stacks might be the answer, but after a while on the highway or towing they get pretty annoyingly loud! lol

if its a daily driver don't do stacks. I have one and it would drive me insane if i didn't drive mine but 100 miles a year. They are messy also.

Down pipe - Pro Fab (Everybody says MBRP has serious fitment issues)

Exhuast - This is up for debate a little, but it's all tubing. Some fit better and how they clamp together changes slightly. I have MBRP and honestly would be looking for a different brand if I were to do it all over again. Flo Pro and Diamond Eye are two that come to mind.

Tuning - EFI Live from ATPTrucks.com (Idaho Rob)

I just ordered a Diamond eye cat delete 4" pipe for my 05 LLY.....

As far as tuning, it depends on what your long term goals are for the truck.

If your like me, and you don't want much performance gain, just a little better gas mileage, and a little help pulling trailers, the Banks Six Gun would be fine. There's a lot of controversy over tuning...the six gun seems to be the "safest" tuner, if you will. So far I like my banks, I keep it on the lowest setting which is better than stock!

EFI Live is a great system, especially if you want the extreme HP that it puts out...you just have to lots of upgrades including transmission!!! Lol

To me LLY+ trucks are really quiet. I'd run a stack on them all day with no worries. You almost can't even hear the exhaust on those trucks unless you're in it pretty hard. My lb7 is annoying as hell with the stack. no matter what rpm its at its loud and im running 2 muffles on it.
