Sadly i could no longer justify having a diesel and despite th sentimental value I had to the truck it was just becoming to much to manage.
So yesterday went to a dealership and came home with a 2008 GMC Sierra SLE Z71

I will deeply miss him but will one day return to the diesel world

Nice truck:thumb: I'm in the same predicament, I love my truck but its getting harder and harder to justify owning a diesel. Sucks working at a dealership too because I drive all the newer trucks which makes mine feel like a pos lol You shouldn't have any issues with the new truck, they are awesome!

Thanks it was a low mileage diesel only had 86,279 miles and wanted to sell it outright but i jjust was on a small time frame to sell it because of the trip back to california . And being that i only drive a mile to and from work it was just too hard on the engine and just wasnt being used for what it should have been. I like the new one and its slowly growning on me more n more. once i get some extra cash I plan to personalize it and make it mine

bummer to hear but that is a nice looking truck you picked up.

i personally look at the upkeep of a diesel to be part of the fun. and i never have to justify to myself or anyone for waiting a diesel.

if i enjoy driving it then its serving its intended purpose for me.

it can be fun i will agree with you there. But with a baby on the way it just wasnt something I felt that it was the smartest decision. the new truck nice but I miss the power and found my self driving back to the dealership just to see the old one. A part of me is gone :(.
One day ill be in a better pposition and will find one just like it and do everything to it that it deserved. Thats my main goal after gettin a house that way i can put my son in a sweet truck when hes older

So after Driving the truck all the way to california non stop and then driving back to kansas i can seriously say i wish i hadnt let my dmax go and yes i realize you cannot compare apples to oranges but we pulled back a dual axle uhaul with misc. things and a bunch of baby stuff. my how i miss that sweet turbo song and feeling as though there is nothing behind me at all. This is one of those kick yourself in the butt moments.

on the upside the new truck did come back with some clear corner head lights, polished drive line, and an exhaust its still left much to be desired.

Do want a Magna Charger for it and deeply regret not getting the 6.2L w/ 6 Speed trans however in light of recent overseas listing I have Put in to go to Lajes and have my finger crossed for that. its a 15 month isolated tour and during that time my wife will return to AZ to live with family. That being said it would be an oppurtunity to sell my truck i have now since i owe right around 5k on it and use whats left after pay off on top of the Separation pay, BAH, and Lower insrance with just one vehicle to go into a truck fund so that when i return i can have a good sized down payment on a 13 lml and return to the diesel world indefinatly. Along with this assignment ill also have roughly 20k set aside to put a down payment on a house at my nxt assignment which will be A Base of Preference hopefully closer to Family. WIN WIN :D:D:D
