I can't imagine doing it with the trans in. Also I don't know why everyone talks about cutting or removing the heat shield on the turbo. I just took the bolts out and rotated it back and was able to access the band clamp fine
45 is damn quick. the biggest issue on mine was just reaching in to loosen the top v band clamp. I'm still not sure what orientation of the clamp would make accessing the nut the easiest.
