So this weekend, I plan on swapping my downpipe out with a MBRP. Any pointers with the LMM would be appreciated.

My LLY was pretty straightforward and I imagine that this will be as well, just a lot less room to work with.

Don't pull dipstick all the way out and cut heat shield in half . Makes it a lot easier.

Worked on mine, and I reinstalled it...

I also put mine back in. On my lly you can wiggle it out in one piece but I had no luck doing that on my lmm. Not enough room to do that.

Awesome, yea, on my LLY I just bent the crap outta the heat shield and it came right out. We will see how it goes tomorrow.:beer

if your patient you can snake the dip stick out if you pry the bracket back abit and then you can leave the heatsheild on the downpipe and it cones out easily. i then cut the dipstick bracket so its just a single bolt design. works like a charm and once you have it figured out its actually quite easy on the lmm. i do cut the turbo heat sheild off aswell.

Be patient..i took my dipstick all the way out and bloodied my knuckles putting it back in. That dang heatshield... That was the worst part of my exhaust swap.

I just ended up cutting it. I was tired of screwing with it and losing skin to random metallic parts of my truck.
