Im too young to have grown up with them but let's just say I like to 'listen to the music' :thumb:
Love the Doobie Brothers music pre Michael McDonald. They went down hill after he joined.

The 1976 "Best Of" album was one of the cassettes I wore out in the old Sanyo Bi-amp radio (ooo -- hifi!) in my Cutlass in high school. "China Grove" and "Listen to the Music" are still favorites of mine. "Cycles" was the last album I bought of theirs. It sounded more like their older songs.

Dang...these guys got big a few years before my time but I grew with the music for sure!
I don't think a person that's gone to most any a bar in the last 20 years can say they hadn't heard a doobi bros song, probably groved out to it too...but could they name the artist?

I know, I'm just not a fan of McDonald. Didn't like him with Steeley Dan and liked him even less with The Doobies.

They still play the Doobie Bro and others of the era but they have progressed and it seems that much of what is now classic is well after my era.
