The time has come to put our dog Socks to sleep this afternoon. A decision I had a hard time making. She is approx. 17 1/2 years old now. She was dumped off when I lived on the dairy. I had her longer then my hubby or my kids.

Here she is as a basically a puppy.

Sorry to hear Kat, she definitely lived a long life.

Well one Basset Hound wasn't enough so we got another one. It was her idea again, but I went along with it because our current Basset was so clingly and emotionally attached I figured getting her a friend would keep her occupied and leave us alone. So far its been working, my fears of them teaming up to destroy stuff haven't come true too much. This puppy seems to be a lot smarter than our other one.

The older one is a female "Fred" (After smokey and the bandit), the tri-color puppy is a male and named Brutus.

It is so hard to have to say goodbye to them. I have been there too, she will never leave your heart.

Well I have a guardian looking out for me now. My little buddy was taken from me today. Ever since we moved he has been hell bent on escaping my fences. Even after spending a total of close to $2000 in privacy fence, concrete, AND a perimeter electric fence, he and my girlfriend's dog still found a way out and a couple miles to the 4 lane highway. He was hit and killed instantly. Luckily his brother made it back home. Had I left work on time it would have happened right in front of me. Luckily a witness cared enough to stop and call me. So thankful for the name tag he was wearing. At least we have him and got our closure.
