im allergic to dogs also. didn't find out till i picked up my female blue nose pit and she layed on my chest that night, and started itching really bad. after 5 months with her my allergies have almost completely gone away, maybe im just lucky. the relationship is worth it to me tho

heres Porsche, my first dog. shes almost 7 months old. very caring, sweet, fun dog. take her everywhere.

She's beautiful, I'm glad you didn't crop her ears.

I too am sorry to hear that you had to put your dog down Simon. Funny thing about pets specially dogs. Great friends they are. Always happy to be with you and very forgiven.

Unlike people it seems dogs never live long enough to say you've grown tired of them like some humans. :D

Sorry for your loss

I finally got a chance to add to this thread. In 2010 I rescued a Lab X that was left in an apartment for over a week with no food or water. Owners bounced and when the owner of the apartment went to check on it they found Harley near death.
SPCA brought him back to health and I got him from a foster home. Best dog I have ever been around. Quiet loyal and very obedient!! They figure he was about 4 when I got him although he looks old-probably from the tough life had(he was very gunshy when I got him). Acts like a puppy sometimes though when he plays so I know he ain't that old.

Then last summer my gf wanted a little dog as her ex stole her wiener dog so I got her another rescue dog this one from Orange Grove CA - a corgie chihuahua x. Not yappy, looked like he was abused as he had sores on his legs from being hobbled and must have had a bark collar on as well as he had sores on his neck. Cute little guy and he does this weird thing with his face so he looks like he is smiling.

I wouldn't give either of them up for anything. Rescue dogs are the best IMO.

Good looking dogs Dale:thumb:

Sorry to hear that Simon.:(

This is Sadie, she's a rescue mutt from N. Las Vegas..... Some spanish family abandoned her, we got her, then spent the next few months getting her to respond to English. Now she's bilingual, responds to either :D

Boxer/Pit mix..... when we got her, she was way underfed, about 20 lbs and looked like a big Boston Terrier....Now she's almost 40lbs, and has more energy than any animal I've ever been around. Loooooves to run.

She's also a beer hound... summer rolls around, she's knocking beer bottles/cans over at the pool edge so she can lick it up... winter time now, she'll jump in the jacuzzi if she knows we're getting in and wander around the edges neck deep, trying to drink your beer

Glad you gave that little girl a second chance at life Simon.

Take joy and comfort that you gave Gibson the best life you could,Some dogs have a very hard life such as the little 1 you brought back, some of the things she has enduered are terrible.

That drives me insane how people can be so cruel to helpless animals. Simon you'll be repaid ten times over for doing such a great thing!

There is nothing more that bugs me than people that are cruel to animals either! I stopped working over there because of those idiots and that reason

We live on the corner of a private road and county road, people drop dogs off few times a year out this way. We caught a guy 2 years ago pulling out while the dog was chasing the truck, and the guy had his young son with him, what a way to raise the kid. We tried to chase him but he was a mile ahead before I got the truck started, called the cops, they didn't care. Both my dogs were drop offs, they were skinny, now there fat,o well they live a good life, eat left overs plus dog food, run back in the woods and chase stuff, etc. After my ole rott died 4 years ago I never could go get another one, hell I had his dad to for a long time. These ole muts are good as gold, and very alert of people near the property. People that dump dogs suck, also if anyone lives in the dfw area a guy runs a pretty cool adoption center east of me 15 miles, its 30 acres with a ton of drop off dogs,I will get the web site.
