ours switches around late sept/oct to winter blend. And I think the A/D is actually part of the issue. my stock filter didn't have any garbage in it when I took it off, but the truck runs fine after, so the pleats on the filter might have waxed over.

Also when you trip low rail pressure your filter minder automatically goes to 0% life remaining, regardless of where it was before.

I'm assuming that is a GMT900 thing then. 800s do not have that feature. I'm actually glad I don't have it because there's several reasons for low rail pressure other than a plugged filter.

I forgot that I had summer fuel in my 82 (my tank was filled in June). It dropped below 20F and gelled up while I drove. Had to coast to a parking lot. D'oh!

If you are filling regularly, the local fuel should be blended for the temperature. Some additive never hurts, though.

Yeah, I would probably get super annoyed with that. It needs an undo that resets the life back to whatever percent it was before. I've set low rail codes a couple times due to weak CP3. But really, once I dialed the tune in, I don't have it happen, so probably a livable "feature".

Just remember the 911 stuff is really hard on the truck, so try to avoid it as much as possible. I had 50/50 jell up on me a few weeks ago. I always travel with at least one extra set of filters in the truck. Really should have 2 sets since you can count on fragging out the 1st set if you still have bad fuel in the truck.
