My truck is now 8 years old and I need to think about replacing the stock air filter soon. I was hoping someone was hoarding some and might let one go before they get too old. If so, PM me. Thanks. :thumb:

The blue filters were too efficient and GM wasn't making any money replacing air filters.. So GM had Donaldson redesign it to be replaced sooner.

I got lucky and found a LMM airbox on ebay a couple years ago with an original blue filter in it. My first one last till 100k miles and hoping i can get the same from this one. Guess ill have to get a white one when i hit 200k..

I recently bought an LBZ intake for my LLY, I think my filter with it is about 5-6 years old as well.

The filter minder is sucked in every time i drive it seems. I guess i need to buy a new one lol

I was extremely lucky bc my filter was practically new. I think the owner took it off before the first oil change.

Good luck finding one, a lot of archived information on DieselPlace about the Donaldson blue filter. If you compare the filter to airbox seal (LBZ/LMM) on the Blue Donaldson to the ACDelco A3087C you'll see some differences. The blue filter is/was also rated the same as the Volant/Donaldson PowerCore filters IIRC at 99.97% and the Donaldson white is rated at 99.95%.

If you want the Blue Donaldson in the PowerCore nano fiber technology Volant has them in their replacement CAI's. Donaldson also allows Amsoil to use the same patented nano-fiber technology in a lot of their filtering products.

I would surmise that GM/ACDelco and Donaldson were not going to agree on the "radial seal and filtering technology" patent that Donalsond held for the OEM blue LBZ/LMM filter and let them [ACDelco/GM] use the nano-fiber technology as GM is as a rule thumb a Corporate raider for money and technology....

So I went and bought the Volant cold air intake 15066 with the blue Donaldson powercore filter, this was by far the hardest intake to install! You have to install the powercore filter first, and work around it the whole time, due to the filter being big, it will not fit in the airbox later on in the install. Then the intake plastic piping was pressed up so tight against my ProFab charge pipe, after all that the MAF sensor would not fit! Returned it, and reinstalled my Banks intake.
