that is one thing i did wrong in pheonix i was watching boost and with my usual 12-14 psi used to be 2200 rpm it was only 1900 rpm now with the twins , but didnt notice it till fooling around when i got home a few days later . next time i will go of off rpm and give it a try .x2
If your not spinning at all I'd try to launch harder. When I launch with the stock suspension clamped in the rear and lowered in the front I like to leave the line at 2300 rpms. I never look at the boost gauge when I launch, just rpms. I did look at it once though and at 2300 rpms I'm at 28 psi of boost. Seems allot higher then what I've read about guys on here launching around 10-12 psi.
my truck used to be the same . dont have enough time on this new setup to know yet.I launch at about 2200 RPMs with about 15 lbs of boost. Much higher than that and 60' times go to crap.
If your pulling consitant 1.6 's , I think you should leave it alone for the most part . There is also more to 60's than just the truck . The driver plays a roll in it too . Finding each trucks sweet spot on launch isnt always that easy .
Trent,
I run Beilstein shocks on all my off road trucks. I love them because you can build them to a custom valve rating for your application or intended use. You do need the higher series shocks to be able to change the internal valving. For your type of application you need a good tight valving to help control the lifting of the front end to help slow the front to a more steady rate because there isn't much unsprung weight in the front to help control this. A good budget option is to run any type of controllable rating shock like mentioned earlier. Just some thought for ya bro
my QA1's should be here tommarow and have a new torsen style rear locker waiting to be inistalled . they should both go on this weekend and should be tested at the track in a few weeks . here is a better pic fo the front end coming up and toeing the tires in.
I didnt know you already ordered those qa1's....Whats a torsen style rear locker?
Now im gonna be expecting an updated phone once you get those qa1's on
torsen style locker is the dodge locker ( eaton true trac ), worm gear style no clutches , i ordered the shocks yesterday and had them shipped 2day air i almost went with the coil overs but chose the easy route , price diff was only 100 bucks plus material to build new upper mount .
Damn those shocks are expensive, are they adjustable? I had to wait a week and half because I didnt wanna pay 80 bucks for 2nd day. Turns out they waited a week before they even got my order out and fedex got them here in three days. Coilovers would have been pretty cool but would have required a little more time and effort....I was hoping you would go with the coilovers so I could copy your setup later on
only 25 bucks for 2 day for me through summit racing , and yes i am flat broke now 1250 bucks for new locker and front shocks i should be good to go now though .
I think that you tried to fix something that wasnt broken with your rear suspension. Plenty of trucks run completely stock rear suspension, no clamps no nothing and cut 1.6's. Tire pressure and weight have a lot to do with it. Less pressure, stiffer rear end to keep the front end down and ditch the 20s you can hit 1.6's. I like your thinking outside the box but I think your rear suspension setup is limiting you bigtime.

Jordan don't want to call BS my friend, but you would have to show me a truck that can cut a 1.6 on a stock rear end suspension and no clamps tire pressure, weight or not. I've been around a lot of Dmaxes and owned a few myself. I never seen a stock truck suspension cut anything close to a 1.6. I have run toyo's down to 25 psi in the rear, used clamps, or cal tracks and had a pretty fast truck. (12.0 111+) and never once cut a 1.6 sixty with a good launch. That is with a twined truck with dual cp's and injectors. That is one hell of a truck my friend would like to talk to him or them, I'm missing something.

Trent I do believe you have the bug worse than I do.
I cut 1.62 with Casper's little M & H's and 1.65 on Toyo's in Wendy in Sacramento. I have done nothing to the rear suspension. I was launching in 2nd gear though.
very impressive Kat , but most dont achieve that that ., i dont have a master plan , and have studied other trucks setups , i am just fixing what i know is wrong first and taking it one thing at a time . and for the recorde the stock shock are on for the moment and they are actually better for rebound then the bilstiens .
