Im building a short block for my truck and already have a built trans with a suncoast gmax kit, suncoast converter and no billet parts. Someone told me i need to upgrade the pump. Is this correct and what else needs to be done to make it live at 900 horse or so.

This sometimes works if you're a good Christian.

What pressures is the current trans producing? After talking to some certain people and seeing how cheap pumps are I would do one with every trans build. But I'm far from a pro.

Probably some gmax clutches, stock PR spring with a shim, transgo converter flow valve and a transgo jr. Which won't live behind 900hp lol

Husker diesel built the trans. Hasnt missed a beat so far. It has about 8k on the build i dont drive my truck much but as for the specifics i dont know for sure but ill find out for sure. Id have to log the truck to see what pressures are at its been a while since ive even looked at it.

Call Jess. He should be able to answer your questions. Without these guys knowing what he all did it's a guessing game.

I'm sure youll need to shim your spring. To bump up the pressure then. Pretty simple. On the trans there is a test port. Need a good gauge and adaptor.

Ok im now curious to see what the pressure is at . Do you know what the threads are for the port and where it is on the trans?

Not right off hand. They are a odd odd size. I took a old plug and tapped it. The port is on the bottom side by spin on filter. If you are planning on going with that much hp it's a good idea to check pressure often.

Ok thanks for all the info . Learn something new everyday on here. Good to know about checking pressures.

It will depend heavily on how the trans was setup, but if setup properly then you'll be breaking parts before burning up clutches.
