I want to go to the strip to see what it will run but I wanna make it worth my while and go all out. I have a fully built stg.4 tranny with t case brace and efi live. I'm running 285 firestone destination at tires that are new. Will I bend the tierods if I go in 4 wheel drive and launch it?

i never took the chance, put them in right away but waited on the braces and have a bent centerlink to show for it

Yep and talking with cognito..... they said sleeves are a must as i went through a set of inners in 5-10k

Granted the idler and pitman was stock with 140k on em.... so i did it all

I've had good luck launching a stock front end truck by just dropping the torsion bars all the way. YMMV

I wouldn't take any chances if it were mine(hence why I won't launch mine in 4X4). I watched a guy with a 2500HD DMAX bend his tie rods at the sled pulls a few weeks ago with a stock truck with just 285 mud tires on it.

Bottom line is you need the sleeves and centerlink support if your gonna play.
I've done numerous launches on my stock front end buti know one of these days the force will not be with me.

Fabtech builds some heavy duty tie rod ends that are like 3x the size of those stock pencil tie rod ends. Also a great investment if your running any tire bigger than a 285.
