Went to change oil today and the level was a little high, 1/2 quart or so. I did a paper towel test and showing fuel.

Ok so time for injectors. Do I replace head gaskets and do arp studs while it's apart? Truck has 207,000 miles and I do tend to run it hard.

I was planning to get my turbo done up by yellowchevy, guess that's on hold for a few months. lol

Best time to do studs is when you do injectors, not a couple hours more

I did mine while I was there. Better to be down once than twice and you're already in there cracking the lines loose. Any time you crack a fuel like loose you risk getting junk in an injector.

With the power level and as many miles as you have. I would go ahead and do it if they haven't been done already. Your're almost to the gaskets already mid as well fix it right well your're in there. It's only a matter of time before they go.

Thanks for the replies. I'll be ordering head gaskets, studs, injectors, and hp lines from LDS Thursday. My wallet is about to hate me.......

Im of the opinion that "was isnt broke doesnt need fixing" but if you want to be proactive, good for you.

I'm it 338k with original hg and have no issues on my 04 lb7. When I stud it i will do hg but no use in doing it unless you are already in there or run higher boost numbers

A few hours extra of work is putting it light when it comes to doing head gaskets and studs. I can think of a good amount of extra work that needs to be done to pull the heads as opposed to just doing injectors. And big money difference as well. Unless an extra grand or so doesn't really hurt you. But this is all personal ideas how I think because I'll always be looking at what else can be taken care of or needs to while I'm head gaskets deep on a job. Then of course more money.

I'm personally with TheBac on this one. If it ain't broke, why fix it? A lot of dirt and debris can fall into the oil pan or block when opening it up. Even with extra care and diligence taken. Good luck and post back when complete :thumb:

I'm one of the year it apart once guys.
I've got that luck if I didn't do both at once, I'd blow both gaskets two days later.

Not to mention it's an LB7, no use risking new injectors to do HG's later IMO.
