I understand that. It just shows how hypocritical this whole thing is. No one can go on DP and talk about this site or any other but it is ok for this site's name to be displayed on one of their google ads that they are being paid for.

I think that Mackin is right, it's all about the money.

My PM privlages where permanatly removed on DP for a PM asking a friend to come over here and check out a thread

I like that we can share links and info we find on other public web sites here.....Really the more info the better we are ALL off. Again JMHO

Guys....that rule was in effect long before the sale. The no-links-to-other-diesel-sites had been a Place rule for a long time. But yet the other sites (maybe not Comp?) allow links to the Place. Go figure.

The VS admin told me it was company policy NOT to allow links to other non-VS sites. I guess its ok to link to one of their Ford or Dodge or Integra sites, though.

Yeah, I heard about that a long time ago. I always had hoped it wasnt true, but we'll never really know for sure.

Some times it was a member forwarding on a recruitment PM to a Moderator that got people in trouble.

You wont hear me say much of anything nice about VS, but they have tolerated most of the bitching threads that have popped up over the past year...unlike previous practice.

But the difference was these were people I knew pretty well, I know they wasn't forwarding them.

There are ways in the software to search PM's. So, when you type "DieselHaulin" or "McRat Racing", it will show the listing of the message along with the users name, I'm sure that's how he's got a lot of people.

That is non of Chads, Nicks, or the staffs business. I for one can't read PMs on my site. The hack isn't even compatible with the newest version of the software (hence why Chad NEVER updated the Diesel Place forums). I still have all of his PM's saved where he confronted me. Everything was cool until I logged on the next morning (which was my birthday) and I was banned! Thanks again DieselPlace... :buttkick:

I lost my pm's at the same time you did, and it was for inviting folks over here, and the only way I did it was thru pm's and/or emails. They said somebody that i pm'd snitched on me, but it makes me wonder. My pm abn for for only several days though.
