While I'm not all that much into censoring diesel-related discussions, I can't seem to make up my mind whether we should get rid of threads that put a negative light on other diesel websites.

Obviously I have an interest in other diesel sites, since I'm a member of several, and banned-for-life from a couple. :D I'm mostly a "tech poster" at sites, which can cause alot of grief on occasion.

So if you get a minute, help us decide whether to forbid discussions of other site operations or not:

i know from being a mod on another site at times like this your better of just ditching it then trying to maintain control of it since they always get out of hand at some point and when they get out of hand you delete them or lock them at that time anyhow.just my .02$

I don't see what continued bitching accomplishes - that said - if it makes people feel better and you & other mods don't mind monitoring the content, then let them vent. I've never been on the receiving end of any crap, so maybe it's easy for me to say.

If the title is clear, those of us who don't want to read it (which is myself sometimes) can just ignore the thread and read something of interest. Other times though, it can be entertaining.

JMO. :)

I like to know some of the stories behind the scenes, lets you know what kind of people you are dealing with. Where else would you find out that Tony was banned at DP over $7. There are a million of those stories and I like to hear them. Some of it is just plain entertaining.

I really like this site because it has as intimate feel to it. It's like people really give a damn about your opinion and are always ready to help. I like reading the technical stuff, I don't reply much in those threads because my knowledge is somewhat limited and there are some many people here that really know what they are doing. But I do reply some in the smoke signals section and I think that is the appropriate place for people to bitch about other websites or what ever is bothering them that day. It's good to have a place to blow off steam without being "Banned" or given a 200 point infraction.

By the way what are the points good for at DP, :dontknow:I've got a couple of hundred of them and I like to get something for them. Can I trade them in on merchandise.. :D Peace

I don't think anyone really feels that the " Other Site's " drama affects this one. Most of us find it humorous and continue on with buisness as usual. The willingness to help and learn is what this site is based on, not, DP, Comp-D, TT$, ect....... So if someone want's to vent about something that happen somewhere else, go ahead. I can click off of it just as fast as I opened it.

Micro-Giv-a-sh!t here!!

I'm a MICRO...

However I believe that discussion is always healthy even if its regarding negative situations...

Therefore discussing other sites and the sillyness that goes on there really doesn't effect this site, it just simply enforces what we already know. THAT THEY ARE BICKERING CHILDREN!!!!

So Cal.
I would allow them. However I would make up a special section for them. That way people who don't want to read about it don't have see it unless they want to. Call it "other forums drama" or "diesel drama" or something like that.

Sometimes it gets old, but I just skip over it unless I see like 43754234 pages then I raise an eyebrow lol.

I think that in the long run its good to vent about it to people who pretty much understand. I dont think we need a new thread everytime someone gets a warning.

Guess what I am trying to say, if its exciting its good but the simple shit does get old. again though, nobody has to click the thread if they dont want to.....

Another thing, it seems its only issues with DP anyway and we know there will be drama about that for years to come....

I dont mind it i guess :D

Everytime I use the Microsoft Word spellchecker when I'm doing a letter, it wants to replace Duramax with Drama. Does Bill Gates know something we don't?

Anyhow, the idea of subforum for comments about internet diesel world might be a good one.

"As the Stomach Turns"
"Who's full of #2?"
"Weasel World"
...

It's not just TDP, the Dodge guys have it down to a science. Start a forum, say it will be different this time, wait a year, go Hitler on everyone, then they start a new one and start all over. I think they are about Generation 5 right now. This board is only Generation 3 (DieselPage>DieselPlace>DuramaxDiesels).

It is certainly nice to know the real information behind some thing's..

Tony's $7.00 deal. Without that post I would never known what would happen (actually I wouldn't became I'm banned anyways:D).

I learned alot from the DP and met alot of you folks on the DP...That being said, I don't feel I owe them anything, nor do they owe me...That opinion is based on the fact that I am merely a "member";) over there, others have different situations...There are other sites I don't care for, but I don't have anything bad to say, I just don't visit/contribute...

I don't think we need to discuss other sites...
