Im sorry but those gas bike riders had to be retarded or shouldnt ride a bike!!!!! That would not be that far of a difference. They were just sittin there on the trail. That was staged.

those bikes are cool, but most of the bikes on the line were minis, 85cc machines, when i go to the track those bikes go out in the "mini" practice, they dont have the power to do the bigger jumps... looks like it works good in the tight woods though.. Check out the KTM freeride, thats a cool electric dirt bike!

You beat me to it. Must of been beginner/D-class riders. Pretty lame.

And the Zero rider seemed to ride well, so....

Man he makes alot of people look stupid. I got to check this thing out this year in indy. Alot of people are going to bash it, but if it opens up more riding area's because it does not make any noise I'm all for it. There is so many places that people mountain bike that you are not allowed to ride a dirt bike at. Maybe this will open that up.

Local pro or Intermediate in the beginner/old timer class! It would be cool for riding on your property and not bother the neighbors.....

Mud is brutal on motorcycle. You can't dab, your foot has no traction. Most dirtbikes have fairly violent powerbands which hinders you in the mud.

I don't think it was staged, but when I was desert racing, all the classes start together. You'd think that would suck, but because there is a "bomb run", the fast guys vanish within seconds. On courses with multiple laps, you are passing a lot of people. On single lap courses, you go for miles without passing, or never pass anyone sometimes.

Not sure if that's the case here, but it might be.

its a land rush start boys, Grand Prix style where you have to shut your bike off at the start and start it when the green starts. Ill bet they have something in the rules next year for electric needing to wait .5 sec or something for racing.

I see nothing fake with that vid other than i want an electric bike like that if the battery last a long time!! mud fricken sucks, specially slick snot out on the back roads. i raced in those exact condition our here in az on a CRF450r with silt covered dirt roads that turned to snot in 30 min or rain. it was jsut in high desert/pine. i ran the beginner class and passed people jsut like he was and even got to guys in expert cause people couldnt keep upright on the bikes. Im not a pro at all and at best am mid pack in the novice class (first race they place you in beginner) but that guy can ride thats for damn sure. i fell 4 times in the 25mile lap we had and finally started getting it figured out till i fell the last time and split my ride side clutch cover loosing all my oil.

I'd like to see that thing go 30+2 at redbud or southwick! I think the concept is cool but no noise I would think would be very hard to ride. Plus nothing beats the sound of a 250 stroker coming to life. Braaaaapppppp!

Who know's what would happen with rules. They did not make a change for electric start on the ktm's and husky's. But they could save you some time with stops for fueling as well. The mx version of the bike above will last a full moto 30+2 with a pro rider is what the company say's. I doubt it would last a hare scramble or long enduro.

You'd have to have battery packs at your checkpoint or pit. Probably just as fast as pouring 3 gallons of premix and having it dumped all over your groin.

Id love it, on tap power, no shifting, all the torque you need. Its like riding the 450x i have now that has a rekluse clutch minus shifting and noise.

Got any more info on that bike Pat?

Bike is interesting... looks like it "runs" pretty well.. but I think a lot of what we saw was a skill level difference. Most of those guys were in over their head.

Looked up the bike, few interesting points

curb weight 200lbs Nice!
quick charge 2hrs
charge last for 45-90min when being pushed hard

The thing that didn't seem right is the suspension travel. Only 9.4" in the front and 8.7 in the back. Either they are somehow rating it differently, or it has a lot less travel than comparable gas bikes??
