As far as I know 55/6500 got the 7.8l duramax and MD transmissions.

This one has a 6.6 in it. Same as the last 5500 I Hauled

The two common options I've found for 4500/5500 is 8.1/6.6 for engine and zf6/Allison for transmission.

6500 are 7.8 or 3100 series cat for engine

Delivered the 5500.. They had a 06 4500 dmax 2wd.. With parking brake on the tailshaft as well. Snapped a picture of the Trans SN and VIN
