no the truck I bought is going to be the prostreet truck, we shorten it, back half and 4 link it. Run the same set up that is in Max'd Out, we have two engines and trannys. Considering building a third motor so we'll have a spare one between the two trucks. I'll keep my 07 cc, we have the 05 dually tow truck and the two race trucks. I'll sell the 06 ec/sb if someone is willing to pay my price.

I'm probably going to sell it. I just picked up another 02 GMC 2 wheel drive work truck, and we want to build it into a dedicated prostreet truck and try and break into the 8's, and I don't need that many trucks. Should have it on the track in Medford on the 12th of September, but not with the proposed big set of twin turbos. It has a strandard LBZ set on it now and will use them to break in the motor.

You boys who want a really fast LBZ street truck here is your chance.

I'll trade your motor for a bone stock '07 LBZ motor with 45000 miles on it!!:D

removed the back seat (~180 lbs)
removed the spare and the spare tire winch (~80 lbs)

The back seat on an extended cab weighs 30.8 pounds and a Firestone 245-75/16 w/50% tread on a painted steel wheel weighs 30.3

05lly2500hd and JoshH I wasn't refering to either of you as guys that "bitch" about their weight. You guys run your truck the way you want and as far as I remember I haven't seen either of you complain that someone else stripped weight. When I go to the track I am trying to see how fast I can make my truck go, so I swap on slicks with low pressure in them, remove all unnecessary weight, click it up to my race tune, and let it rip. On the street I'll play with others but limit the speed that I get up to - extended periods of high speeds is what makes street racing dangerous, embarrassing a corvette from one light to another isn't so bad.

Im horrible about racing light to light and have stopped to a point. My friends cousin pulled out of a store parking lot and got t-boned by a ricer racing and died at the scene bout 3 months ago. Ricer just started and estimated was at 50mph when he collided. The speed limit was 45. The kid who died DIDNT have his seat belt on and was in a Jeep. Lots of bad errors on both parties, just saying you cant be too safe.... Not gettin on anyone, because I do the same, just wanted to point out that there isnt any way to be careful when racing in the city.
Hell I went to Smoothie King and the darn cardboard sign on the wall fell and hit my in the back of the head while in line... ssssshhhhhhhh Could have been my time then.

That's cool, man. I'm not the one to bitch. I do want to see how fast I can make my truck go, but at some times IN MY SITUATION, it seems pointless to lose alot of weight JUST for the track. Being a daily driver, I want to know how quick I can leave the line, get from light to light, etc. WITH my toolbox and tailgate and backseat all in, etc. Ya know?
I guess I feel this way mostly because I can tell a HUGE difference when I run down the street alone, or when I run with 4 passengers, etc. Get my drift.
I feel like an ass if I tell all the buddys I"m running 12's and I'm barely beatin a 14 sec.
I'm all for maxxing it out, but my first priority is seeing what I can run consistantly on the street with daily street weight in most conditions. That'll give me most bragging rights, then I'll continue to drop as much weight, add water/meth, or whatever.

Anywho, yesterday I just installed my cognito braces, adjusted alignment a lil bit, today I cleaned and waxed her, and cleaned out toolbox(saved prolly 50 pounds). Gonna try and put some 5w-30 in the tcase, and drop my spare winch and the hitch as well....things I don't use on a normal basis.

From the back to front, weights approximate:

Tonneau: 20lbs
Towbeast Hitch: 70lbs
Spare: 70lbs
Spare winch: 20lbs
Tailgate: 60lbs
Step Bars: 40lbs
Back Seat: 140lbs
Pass Seat: 80lbs
Mats/Jack/Tools/Hitch Ball: 30lbs
2nd Battery: 50lbs

Diesel fuel weighs approx 7lbs/gallon. I try to target 1/4-1/2 tank remaining by the time I get to the track.
I also remove any loose stuff in the cab. For example, spare filters, plastic tote of filter tools, rags, etc. and everything in the console and glovebox I dont need. Youd be surprised how much junk you can accumulate in a vehicle.
Also factor in adding the weight of your helmet/computer/computer stand back in...thats only about 10lbs total, but it does add up.

I can get my truck down to 6450lbs from 7100lbs, with me in it. I could still remove the rear bumper if need be. I think it weighs somewhere around 70lbs. So figure there's ~.3 difference between my truck in race trim and how it'd ideally run on the street.

In my past experience ('80s), racing on the street was completely different than racing on the track. Much shorter runs and/or usually from a roll make low-end quickness far more important than top-end power. My Mustang was an absolute dog at the track, but on the street was a whole 'nother ballgame.
