Diagnose this 5.3L

It's not going to be moving much longer! That's a bad sound to hear, sounds like it is chewing the hub in the trany.

Does it make that noise in gear at a stand still? Input shaft should be 0 rpm.

Yes still has all gears. It makes that sound in park not just drive

Something up against the flywheel??? Does it shift and run through all the gears normally other than the noise?

Sun shell grenaded took out some clutches... Rebuild with u joint was 2700$

Thats why I asked about reverse, 2nd and 4th. Those should have been gone if the sunshell stripped.

Cracked Flexplate?

Grenaded the Torque converter or front pump?

That's what some call shucking a shell. 4l60, 700 r4 etc tend to have problems when guys don't stop before they go from forward to reverse and vise versa. You can damage the shell and it explodes .
