LML def mixed with fuel treatment

Friend of mine's father ran out of def in his truck he refilled it with a gallon of def and not paying attention and poured whole thing of fuel treatment in the tank .my question is, could he just fill the tank all the way up with def or needs to drain the tank. I know what the right thing to do is i was just wanting to hear your opinions about this.

Whatever he did drain the tank. Mixing of either of them is a big no no.

I'm confused. Are you referring to DEF as "fuel treatment" and are you saying he poured a gallon of DEF in the fuel tank? If so, don't start the truck, drain the fuel tank completely and blow all the fuel lines out before refilling with diesel fuel. DEF is basically urea & water, it could cause major issues if it's mixed with diesel fuel.

I think he's saying he poured a gallon of Def in the Def tank and then added a bottle of additive (diesel kleen?) to the def.

I'd drain it, I'd hate to see what happens when the def injector starts shooting combustible fuel into a 1200 degree exhaust system...

Yep he poured fuel treatment in the def tank i went out last night and drained his tank for him luckily he caught right after he did so the truck was never even started
