I am typically refilling my def tank with 5 gallons of def every 3000 to 3500 miles.

In the 16 or so years I have been a member here I STILL haven't seen any RATIONAL reason for the various EGR and DEF deletes and disables.

Do people here WANT dirty air ?
I think its dirty enough - and my 2003 LB7 STILL runs just fine with all its original (NE1 emissions) equipment.
It is exclusively a towing truck and has seen some miles (6 horse trailer).

So whats the deal with trying to dirty up the place ?
This ISN'T the 60s when "smog pumps" were believed to be the devil's own creation.

16 years? Wow, that's impressive.

Who said anyone here wanted dirty air? Don't go putting words in people's mouths!!

For sake of discussion, what do you consider "dirty air"?

Air that is potentially more toxic then we yet realize coming out of all these ridiculous filters that lobbyists pushed to install in our exhaust systems?

Or does some soot, and sulfer that quickly falls back to the ground scare you more?

Pull your intake and heads off after 20K and take a look. Do it again after 50K and 75K. No...your LB7 DOES NOT still run fine. You just didn't notice the slow degradation in performance and mileage from the mountain of soot cake in your intake and heads. You're on the wrong forum for that tree huggin stuff.

Do a little research, you will find that the new emission equipment is actually more harmful bc of smaller particles that stay suspended for 1000x longer. Not to mention that they can be absorbed thru skin, with no after treatment the harmful particles are very large and immediately fall to the ground from which they originate from. Sometimes we go backwards before we move forwards, it's just the way the industrialized world works....

Depending on how you drive you could get 10k miles out of a full tank. Just hit 86k on my '11 mostly highway/freeway doing 75mph+

I added it, but have been deployed. I will be back shortly and attempt to add more, see if the wife has burned any off while she has been driving it. I appreciate the assistance and apologize for not coming back on here earlier.
