I have a 2001 LB7 with auto trans and mainly no mods. Yesterday when driving home, the truck was kind of shakey at idle almost like a bad motor mount. When I got home, I was inspecting the motor and related parts when I noticed a good size oil leak coming from near the harmonic balancer pulley..I cant tell if it's the front main seal or crankshaft seal or...? I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem and what they did to repair it. I'm fairly mechanically inclined and very low on cash.. HELP!

Sounds like you have an injector problem, it runs rough, then it filled up the base with fuel?? It may be coming from your crankcase vent tube that is right behind the balancer on the passengers side.

I thought that may be the case...its weird though, you can smell fuel but the oil isnt seperating as if it was mixing with fuel. If I were to hook up an EFI scanner and watch the balance rates and pressures etc do you think I'd be able to see where the issue is coming from?

I have 100600 miles on the motor and factory injectors. I was having problems with the injectors a while back according to the EFI scanner, but when I took it to GM he said its most likely a fuel rail pressure sensor? It runs pretty decent, never rolls coal, and stays at a generally low temp. Oh just FYI I DO NOT have a tune, my friend just has the EFI scanner from his tune.

Check the balance rates. Sounds like a injector as mentioned above. Check that the balancer isn't wobbling with the engine running, (Broken crank).

In the event that it IS in fact my injectors, how much does it usually run to have it all done? Or is it something that I could do myself? I'm decent with cars/trucks, just new to diesel.
