What is everyone's plans for Christmas? Anybody have anything going on?
Saturday before Christmas is Bacon family Xmas at my sister's house. Loudness, laughter and cut-throat insanity (what we call White Elephant gifts -- it gets brutal with steals).
Christmas Day here with our son and his wife. Daughter and fam still in Arizona until May.
Saturday after Christmas is Thelen family Xmas (Roni's fam). Not nearly as loud and crazy as Bacon Xmas, but fun nonetheless.
Hold it… Toms retiring this year?!
Technically, next year. September 30th, 2025 is my last day on car. This is my 40th (and last) Christmas at UPS. I do love being an elf this time of year.

As for what I plan to do....Adam is the closest to reality. Roni IS making a list. Hahaha to Dozer. I dont own NBs!
Truth be told, I am thinking about selling the vette. A customer on the route just told me he's going to sell his 72000 mile 1985 Cutlass Salon/Calais Ttop car. Beautiful car. Im very interested.

BTW, James, Roni and I are coming out to Chandler for a week in February to celebrate Asher's 1st birthday and do some Grand Canyon sightseeing.
We MUST get together.

I got two weeks off and no where to go. My folks are getting divorced and it’s gotten ugly, so I won’t be seeing them this year again. Well, we’ll see I guess maybe they will grow up in the next few weeks. Doesn’t matter much to me. I got some good friends and a little family close.

We did end up losing one of our really good friends. Apparently they don’t like our parenting, because our little girl told their little girl that they could be girlfriends and in a separate conversation weeks later that girls could get married. Our girls are eight years old and they didn’t want to have that conversation with their daughter until she’s older. Yet they literally watched cartoons at their house that have bisexual relationships and marriages in them… I’m sorry your kids can’t put two and two together, but when my daughter spells it out for them. We’re the bad parents. Honestly, I saw it coming at some point in time. They’re good friends because they understand our special-needs son and they’re good people. Developmentally our daughters way past their kids. I didn’t see the girls friendship lasting much into their teens when interests really change. OK rant over.
I cannot tell you how sad it made me to read your post. I really hope and pray your family / friend situation gets better. It is tough losing relationships with friends or family. My sister died suddenly; I stood in her yard as the coroner removed her from her home. I struggled to remember the last time I spoke with her, much less gave her a hug. Life is strange sometimes.

@Dozerboy My girlfriend's family is a shit show. Every year they basically ruin the holidays for her. It already started last weekend. I have thicker skin and can see right through them and their little games. Fuck'em, I hope we don't see them at all this Christmas.
Yeah, I used to think my family was “normal” and my wife had the “screwed up” family. Either I wise up or everybody did a 180* turn. It sucks to see my family, who I have such wonderful memories of growing up, become what it’s become. I don’t really let it bother me though. I’ve made myself a hell of a family that gives me more joy than I can properly appreciate. I’m not gonna waste more energy than what’s necessary on what’s wrong with the rest of them.

That’s tuff man and I feel for you. I’ve tried very hard to be more positive in life and hope I don’t start having regrets like that. Stuff like that can really weigh you down.

That electrical panel is pretty cool

OSHA would have a heart attack if they saw that 😅

Probably going to take more then a .22 shell casing to replace one of those fuses…. Lol

Unless it’s been upgraded since I was a kid our old farm house still has a fuse panel like that. The newest part of the house was built in 1918 IIRC.

I always thought that bubblegum wrappers or aluminum foil was the correct way to bypass a fuse 😁. Never heard of using ammo. So, do I use spent cases or does it have to be live ammo to keep the circuit live? 🤣

Ironically, I have seen older cars with live ammo used...
