Debadge problem

debadged my truck today, and went to take off the black trim that runs along the lower door to the bed, and took off both pieces of trim on my bed.
it left behind a really faint yellow color. any ideas how to get it back to white?

When i did mine i went over the whole truck with a mothers clay bar then rubbing compound then a polishing compound then compound wax then polymer wax......took forever but made the paint look brand new:thumb:

yup that foam tape sucks

i used a buffing wheel and wax took about 10 minutes inlcuding putting everything away:roflmao:

i tried a polishin compound guys. used an electric wheel and by hand. still yellow tint. did prolly 5 or 6 times. any other suggestions?

I have a red 05, pulled everything off an had no discoloration. Not sure how to bring yours back except gettin the clear off and redone.

idk what its from. its more yellow where the tape was, and real light yellow where the tape wasnt. its so faint no one would probly even notice, but i would. haha. it kinda reminds me of oxidation, or like when headlights tart to yelllow.

Maybe try wetsanding it and buffing it back out.

I see you're in Alaska. Could it be a salt thing? I did some body work on a white GMC and it had discoloration under the trim.. But I was repainting anyway so it didn't matter. My vote would be wetsand and buff.

i had to push down pretty hard on the buffer to get it out...it was just as the bottom seem in the middle body line right inside it..spend some time with it

well, the truck is in alaska, but i just bought it in arizona bout 3 weeks ago.
but i guess ill keep trying with the polishing compound, and my buffer wheel.

buffed it, with a polishing and rubbing compound. alot! still have that yel;l;ow color. any other ideas?

the only thing left is to wetsand and buff but if you do just be super careful.... i consider myself extremely capable of most anything but I would take it to a professional to keep from going through your clear, it should not cost any more than $150 at the very most but thats cheaper than a new paint job
