Mt truck died today when pulling my travel trailer. Had the Edge on level 2 and was going down the road and it quit running. It turns over but won't fire and there is no fuel in the lines. I took of the black cap off the front of the motor and pushed down the bleed valve and it was dry. Put on a new filter and can't get fuel to the filter. I dropped the tank last week to clean out the tank the previos owner put watery rusty fuel in it and then sold it now I have it. I cleaned the tank but didn't clean the lines and installed a new fuel filter. Put in fuel additives and drove it 250 miles and it died. I pulled of the Edge and went back to stock. I hooked up my Tire Pac to see any codes and said no codes.

If you pushed down the valve in the test port on the front you wont get fuel unless you have a lift pump. Other wise nothing will come out. That port on the front of the motor is not a bleed valve. To bleed the filter you have to open the plastic screw on the top of the fuel filter houseing and pump until fuel comes out. if you dont have the screw open you will pump for days and not get anywhere. I cant see anything clogging up the lines that bad that you would not get any fuel at all. Also alittle more info in your sig about the truck will help out alot.

03 duramax I tried to bleed it the right way I changed filters before and bleed the little black plastic bolt before and had no problem. When I cleaned the tank there was alot of build up on the sides and some on the bottom. Is the fuel cooler before or after the filter. I can't get a prime or even hear air coming out when I open the bleed valve after pumping it. I want to take of the filter and force a litte air in there and see if anything comes out the filter houseing.

The Edge is not one the truck no more unhooked all the plugs and went back to stock. Going to get rid of it and get EFI

Fixed it the water sensor had a bad seal runs good now kinda

Vasbinder..I had a similar issue whereby I had lost my prime...had bleed screw open / hand pumped till I was blue in the face to no avail. Ended up having it towed 120 miles home. Thankfully I had CAA and it cost me nada.

My mechanic got it going and all he did was use one of those hand vacuum pumps to pull fuel from the tank..seems the filter primer pump just wasn't up to the task.

I've since gone and bought one ($ 19.95 CAD), from a Harbour Freight type of place up here in Canada called Princess Auto. Now resides in my tool box.
