yeah same thing for me, mine would not come on at times, and also it would flicker as well. no problems now.

After poking around google it seems the slow warm up on high beams is pretty typical.
Most people do one of two things to correct the 10 seconds of no lights:
1) all on mod (still can't really flash people if they aren't warmed up)
2) run normal Halogen headlight bulbs for brights.

DDM is hit or miss hell, I am still running the original HID's I. My single cab that I had in my LBZ... And I run the VVME Chinese ones. No issues

This^^^

I usually buy a couple sets at once, this way if one ballast doesn't work I have an extra, or if one goes out prematurely I have an extra or two to choose from for a replacement.

DDM sells sets of 35W HID digital ballasts with HID bulbs for less than I can get a set of sylvania silverstars, so it's really not hard to cough up the coin for two sets...then you can get a couple different bulb color temps too...

I have had DDM HID's in several vehicles over the years, I've had the best luck with the 50W ballasts, in fact our subaru has had a set of 50W for 5 years now :thumb:

Bens light saver module isn't a bad idea for saving your HID ballasts ;)

PIAA 60W halogens aren't bad for your high beams, the all on mod is sweet, but it still sucks to wait for the HID's to warm up for the high beams...:(

TX of course
I have VVME ballasts and DDM bulbs on my truck now. One of the bulbs has changed color a little other then that they have been great.

I did order a Relay kit with my ballasts from VVME that burned up though.
