First time owning a dirty max. 2004 Chevy 2500hd lly. So my question is why is it only the driver side running light works during the day but at night all the lights including the the passenger side? It has me kinda boggled. I’ve even replaced all the bulbs.

DRLs are a separate circuit. Time to start checking out the wires and grounds. Each side has its own ground so it's possible it's one of those.

The bulb for the DRL is of too much wattage. The bulb gets too hot and starts to melt the socket. I just bought new sockets and LED DRL's and installed them. Been going strong for about 7-8 years. Before, when I would buy new standard bulbs, they would stay on for a month or two and the same thing again. No light or lights.

Well that’s just stupid. I bought this truck thinking I wouldn’t have to turn wrench on it in the first month.

If the socket is burning, you can grease the new one to make it last longer.

Remember that any resistance in the circuit will cause higher amperage and more heat. Electrical connections need to be clean and tight, no corrosion.

Well got the light issue fixed. Had a donor truck that I pulled both wiring pigtails. Fixed that issue. Now a new one has come to light. So here in utah we’ve been getting a lot of rain lately and now I noticed my weather tech plastic mat on driver side is full of water been looking around and people are saying stuff from windshield leaking to the driver side door seal. Where do I start on that issue? Thanks in advance
