Ok WTF is the deal with these? 90% of the p/u's I see with DRL one of them is out.

I have one that doesn't like to stay lit. I have changed the bulb and used a screwdriver to flex out the wire on the base of the bulb but it lasts for a couple days then out again. What is the issue with these how come they don't flippin work very well? Is it the socket do I need to jam a toothpick in there to keep the bulb still?

I never had to replace a single light on my '05 and the '07 is still holding strong.
The one burnt out light thing drives me nuts too!!

i replace both of mine about every 10k miles (because the pass side usually burns out first so i just throw two new ones in while i'm in there.) i use regular amber 3157's with the 35w mod not the special gm drl bulbs

My 2001 3500 8.1, with 130,000 miles has never had the bulbs go out. However my D-Max has the passenger side gone out, oh wait I've lost count, how many times. From what I've been told, its to high a wattage of a bulb for the sockets. The sockets melt, disform, or what ever you call it and stop working. Anybody got a fix?

I know what you mean. Most the GM trucks is see always have 1 DTRL burnt out. I just had to replace a burnt low beam on passenger side.

I put amber colored 3157's in mine and they have never burned out. 47K on it and still going good. I hate the DRL's to begin with so instead of tuning them off every time I got in the truck, I went with the ambers so it looks like i'm running the parking lights. It makes me feel better about the situation GM gave me when I bought the truck.
