What generation truck? On the 06+ stuff where live CAN data is right at the OBD2 port I think the Banks DataMonster is the best "bang for the buck" on setups that are non-stock.

On the 01-05 trucks, Banks canned the "pre-CAN" iDash 1.8 so they will not receive any ECM data. For them, I think the best option is likely EFI or possibly Edge. Edge devices spit out data into a .CSV just like Banks so their free online software should work well for the average guy or you can create your own graphs via Excel/other program that can handle .CSV data.

Thanks. Friends of mine are building a pretty serious drag & drive truck and are wanting decent data log capabilities. Still using an Allison.
I'm assuming any sled puller I ask will be using an aftermarket Ecm and it's data log setup. No real connections in the racing world.

My LB7 is had a datamonster setup. What I did is tap into the rail pressure and throttle 0-5V lines to give myself a reference.

Aka I do a throttle blip before I log to create that point of reference to sync the logs.

The datamonster is, in my opinion, unbeatable for the dollar on logging.
