Picked this 08 6.4 lariat 4x4 up pretty cheap to fix and resell, ended up using it as a spare truck and have to admit that I am very impressed! DPF and EGR delete with H&S mini max. Fully loaded interior with nav and rear entertainment center. Had to buy a new radiator and replace the front cover/water pump.
It's an impressive rig. Very luxurious and comfortable interior. Extremely quiet down the road. Love the interior over my Chevy.
Rides a little rough, but my LMM is very smooth so it's a bad comparison.
The tranny shifts great, I like it. However, the tow haul lockup of the Allison is wayyyyyy more comfortable to tow with than the ford. The ford tow haul feels like it just increases rpm shift point with a stock lock up pattern (4th lockup I think).
The 6.4 has tons of low end torque on tap, the trans really compliments this after it lockups. Very strong running motor for sure.
It's very quick and responsive on the big tune, does feel really fast but it puts down some good power for sure. It comes alive quick for sure though.
The AC sucks!!! My Chevy will freeze you out, this ford is barely comfortable on a hot day to me.
The worst part, you can't get to crap under the hood!!!! It is flat out rediculous!! I can't believe how naked my dmax is under the hood in comparison. Unbelievably crowded.

I miss my dmax and can't wait until I get it back! Lol. I really like this ford but I love my dmax! This 6.4 ford is sold as soon as I get my dmax back or my 7.3 ford back. A buddy of mine lost a trans in his dodge so I loaned him my 2000 ford 7.3 cc/sb 4x4. Talk about a turd to drive! That 7.3 does good to get out of its own way!
