Dose anyone make a sleeve to repair a damaged cylinder bore? I have a few nicks in a cylinder, I would like to keep stock bore on all cylinders instead of having to get bigger slugs for this engine. Was looking to see if darton makes a sleeve but had no luck finding anything

My local machine shop sleeved my block to stock bore after truck droped a valve. I have 20k miles on since rebuild all is working good.

I'd have to sit and think but IIRC the Dmax block has something at the top of the cylinders to make it harder which slips my mind at the moment. Ugh.

Where can sleeves for the duramax be found? I've got a block that dropped a valve, and punched a hole in the cylinder. Would like to sleeve it and use it on another conversion...

Man I don't know about putting sleeves in one. Something about that sounds too much like a junky cummins build. Now for stock application it might be ok but I sure wouldn't trust it to make any real power. I'd just start looking for a good used block. Besides a failure like dropping a valve or cracking a piston the blocks really don't wear much. Should be rebuildable blocks in the garage sale section.

Wagler had cylinder sleeves on display at TS, and from what I was told they are in a high horsepower 3.0 duramax puller.

Do the sleeves wear like the rest of the block? Im doubtful if your gunna sleeve it I'd say do all the cylinders so it wears the same thru all of em... Just my thought on the idea

How much damage can a sleeve fix? I have a hole inside of the block into the water jacket, I didn't think you could sleeve a duramax block, any Idea on cost?

I'd rather out engines came sleeves factory. They don't tear shit up when they brake. And there repairable. Lots of heavy duty engines have removable sleeves.

Yeah all the Cat & Detroit engines we overhauled when I worked on big trucks were sleeved. It made the job a lot easier. Just order all 6 piston & sleeve sets with pistons & rings already in the sleeve.

Is this block sleeve able? If so, is it worth doing all 8? I have a block that I would love to start building for my C10.
