I wanna use a 10 inch wheel on the outside with 4.5 backspacing. The wheel I have now on the back has about 3-4 inches from the lug face to the tire sidewall.so just guessing I need a 8-9 inch spacer
Well I know tomac said in thread that he had 17-9 wheels on his inside with a 6 inch back space. Thats the same distance I am starting with. He said he used a stock dually outter though. Anyone know what the back spacing is on a standard dually wheel? The wheels I want to bolt up to it are 4.5bs. I have seen a truck with a 10 spacer pull every weekend with a workstock truck. I haven't seen his wheel fly off yet.
Ben, for those really big spacers, don't they weld a plate stock ring (with the proper bolt pattern drilled out) on both ends of a tube 6-8" in diam? I'd imagine that with a 1/4"-3/8" side wall thickness should be plenty stout enough? Cool thing would be to use aluminum to attempt to save rotational weight like them fancy real wheels. :thumb:
Yeah Mitch. I'd like to get aluminun but it would cost alot more and the strength would go down. Think I'm just gonna have Jake build them for me, noone else wants to call me back lol
This guy might be able to help you out. I'm happy with mine. I had a custom order made no problem. Just told him what size I needed. Not nearly as big as you need though. Great quality. Bearing steel. Good luck.
I'm switching to duals on my puller and will be needing a decent size spacer. Can't wait for the tires and wheels to come in so I can measure for the spacer and get them mounted up :woott:
