not sure if this is the right place but has anyone built their own sheet metal radiator overflow tank. everytime i look under my hood i see this ugly ass plastic overflow tank and it just doesn't fit in. would like to do one that contours to the fender tub. post em if ya got em.

thanks

thought about it and it's doable. 1/2 crescent shape would be sweet, more fluid below eyesight and the fill point could still be high to let it burp and return.

i just couldn't figure out how to deal with the low coolant sensor. Its embedded in the casting, so it appears, removal would ruin the stocker. The 2 lines out the bottom are no big deal. A radiator guy could prolly whip one up in an afternoon with purdy aluminum weldies.

Great idea Dude, good luck.

checks Summit, they make one that should fit (silver Moroso) over on the firewall side. You'll have to put the 5/8 line in it and the sensor, but it'll fit your gig better. Check Meziere at Jegs as well, $$$$ but its perfect for what you got.

You'll have to get a slip-slip coupler to extend the lower radiator line as well, no biggie. You gonna be ok with the heater lines? Don't they run across the fender on that side?

Atleast the return is right there!!! :D

Good luck.

Check the back outside of the frame rail tucked behind the rear wheel, good space there. Fuel cell right? If not the inside of the frame rail behind the driver, maybe not with the filters? maybe you don't have filters? Right under your seat inside of the frame rail??? it makes sense with supply and return as well? Check the hardlines (fuel) under your brake booster, it would be an ok place.

Toss the pump mounting hardware in the "maybe box" and mount it right to the frame with collars and nuts washers. The angles and hardware only made it complicated for me.

well i can't go on the outside of the frame b/c of my 4 link. i can't go under the cab b/c once i body drop it i'll have to move it. the only place that i have see where i can run it is above the tank under the bed floor. but i don't know if i can mount the pump above the tank like that. what cha think.

as far as lines on teh fender idk, everything works fine the way it is now. the overflow is actually off of an 01 suburban lol

Not a perfect scenario but it'll work. You can mount the pumps sideways, never heard of any issues. my FASS pump is mounted sideways on the filter body! I have a 4 link as well, outside of the rails is prime real estate. :) memmer where the back/end of the springs used to mount to the outside of the frame rail? look there, tuck it up under there, on the outside of the frame rail below the taillights. If you had a mud flap on the rear it would be behind it and up.

mY FASS is upside down:D Only issue is you cant drain it that way and it could possibly build up rust if there is water present in the pump

Iam not to worried
