Good fabrication work and welds :thumb:
Good clean aluminum is nice to weld.

Yeah but I forgot how much alum. Sucks especially with a mig rather then tig. Getting air tight and no pin holes is a damn feat. About 100 hrs in it. Hope all works well. I wish someone made rubber gaskets for it

Thanks waiting to get back from powdercoated and bolt it up. Only thing I might add. Is I might fab up a stainless girdle to help lock it down better. The aluminum flange just worries me with heat and distortion

You are correct. It has to be CLEAN and wire brushed with stainless steel really good other wise you'll want to kill yourself. I've only ever TIG welded aluminum. I did some that was dirty and I couldn't get it to do anything but burn holes. I've done a few on new clean aluminum and it was much easier, haha.
Making something like that air tight is a pain. Just about everywhere you start/stop you'll have a pin hole and sometimes it's a pain to seal that little hole.

Still looks good though :thumb:. Make me want to weld some aluminum again.

Yeah the thought of welding it is fun then about the second burned tip on your spool gun your launching it across the garage.

Hahaha, I hear you there. I've never used a spool gun but the frustration for sure.
Same thing for when you have the nice ball on the tungsten then you dip it into your puddle right away because you moved wrong

I made an air cylinder to do some training at work and man it sucked getting it air tight.
