As the title says, what would be the better option.
Leaning toward the cts2 for some of its features. But the banks unit seems pretty impressive only down side is it being small.

Would like to hear some opinions about both

I’ve never used the Banks idash but I love the cts2 monitor. Only problems I have is the egt part is a little screwy. It’s affected by the operation of my drivers window. And in the summer time the unit is too hot until the interior cools off. Usually around 115+ degrees and it won’t turn on.

Easy solution for the EGT sensor is use a 0-5V scaler box with a K type thermocouple. That is what I had to do in order to keep from replacing probes every 6-8 months. Also, the scaler/thermocouple is much quicker at responding and seems to be more accurate.

Mind sending a source for that setup? My EGT has been out for awhile and I have been reluctant to replace it because I didn't want to deal with replacing it with another that was bound to fail

Sure. Mods, if this isn't allowed please delete.

I used this Scaler box: http://thesensorconnection.com/egt-...-signal-conditioner-module-0-5-vdc-analog-out

I used this EGT probe: http://thesensorconnection.com/egt-...xhaust-gas-temperature/egt_diesel_probe.shtml

You could try this probe but I haven't personally used it yet. It looks promising but on my built motor truck I use the first linked probe: http://thesensorconnection.com/egt-...be-diesel-biodiesel-fast-response-18-diameter

You will need to hook it up to the Edge EAS system using a universal 0-5V input. Then, take and configure your input by naming it and entering your values. I used 0V=32f and 5V=2282F. Entering more values theoretically can make it more accurate but it is a straight line anyway so no need to confuse it.

I am going on 3 seasons with mine (this is the third) and it still reads awesome. The nice thing is changing a sensor takes minutes incase it gets damaged or if it gives me a reason to believe it isn't reading properly.

i feel like running both to see how they are, using the cts2 connected to obd2 to do codes, and everything else and monitor some other things. then also use the banks idash for critical things that will data log more,

reason being im in Australia and having my engine tuned is going to be a fun exercise so the more data i can get and send off to mark for he tuning process. will be beneficial.

was hoping someone on here has the new idash to hear what they have to say.
