Jeez you guys are a tough crowd. It sounds like the OP is just asking about the short block.

Often you are at a crossroads once you have trans, studs, turbo... sometimes guys already have injectors even. All they really need to do in the supply dept is add a dual fueler. Then of course the support for that supply, aka short block reinforcement.

Its not often you get someone with a completely stock truck asking for a 1200hp transformation, although reading these posts you would think it is asked everyday..

EDIT: Where I am coming from: I may have money into my charger, trans, etc...but as far as my "engine build" is concerned, I have spent $0.

Howards rods to the front! The pin oilers make the choice easy. I have run the same rods since 2008. I have installed all the others in motors and they work fine. I have also had to replace pin bushings in a set that only had less than 15 runs on them. Owen the dragster looks good. Get that thing running! You don't need all that fancy stuff to run fast in that thing. I just run 8.16 with no nitrous on a single cast 80 turbo! That was with a 1800 pulse tune!

I'm trying to round up a few parts then I might just do it. Injectors have gotten expensive for lbz

You will never use that power...

I agree that for a street truck 600+ is a bit much to handle in 2wd, sticky tires its ok.

800 on the street you better be in 4wd or you'll probably go slower from the tire spin.

900+ is VERY difficult to even test and get a decent log on the street.

You are very correct, I rode in a truck that dynoed 835 a couple weeks ago and on nitto 420's it acutally hooked pretty good. Once it was in 5th gear lol.

Wow you really have a big one.
Thanks for whipping it out. Say hi to the Wifey
For you I will rename to "Jew Build"

WOAH and WOW:eek:

#1) that is like the third time you have referenced cock size, wtf man? You that concerned about your own?
#2) we don't say ANYTHING about another mans wife on this forum(period)
#3) :screwy:bastard WTF is your problem man, STFU ALREADY you are the only one here trying to "Jew" a 1000hp build. The reference to Jew's is unnecessary (I apologize to the Hebrew nation for the comment)

And to you Mikey:toilet_claw:take a trip

so how many of you with built engines have changed out all your wire connectors with gold plated ones? they do carry electricity better. Oh wait, no one? what are you all on a budget or something? There is such a thing as being on a budget for a 1000HP engine. OP I have been really happy with my Carrillo rods. I like the fact that they are light weight, and they hold up fine with high HP engines

A budget is like a diet. A diet happens to be anything you eat. Not something special. A budget happens to be what you want go spend. Just don't expect a Cadillac for a Yugo budget. It will all take care of itself in the long run. I spend way too much for what I get out of mine. I don't cut corners either. With building it cheaper I would be even worse off than now.

My first motor only had rods, head studs, cut stock pistons, valve springs and it made 1047 to the ground and a full season running mid tens. When i pulled it down everything looked awsome the pistons are curently going into a different build.

It just annoys me when someone asked what the cheapest thing to do the job is and they get jumped on for it. You may not need the worlds best rods to make 1000HP. And you do that for the entire build you can save a good amount-400 here and there adds up to a few thousand over the build if you are smart about it, cut corners where you can and don't cut corners where you cant. Anyone who knows what they are doing knows to spec a build to do what you want, and if you don't need the extra super nice option to make it happen then don't get it.
