Gotta be careful regrinding a stock cam for more lift and duration. They are case hardened and if you get the case too thin.............

Well I guess my idea of becoming a cam manufacturer using my bench grinder is out. :(

I would hope Crower is using their industry knowledge and experience to ensure their cam has been tested and proven to be reliable.

I wonder if they re-carburize the cam after it is re-ground. I bet that is fun to keep under control and come out with a straight part.

I wonder how many people have had trouble or failure with a regrind cam?? I know there's a good many of them out there but have never heard of a broken dmax cam. Anyone else? Maybe excessive lobe wear would be the issue?

Theres no point incuding the core in the price as you will get it back, That is a screamin deal and Crowers been makin cams for years, i wouldnt think twice about using them. About time theres a reasonable priced alternative for the duramax crowd.

I love how everyone in the diesel community is proud to pay an unnecessarilly steep prices

it's nice to see a reputable company finally price a part reasonably and the "because it's more expensive it's better" philosophy shows through again with people criticizing a product 99% of them haven't even seen let alone used

Comp also makes cams, they work rather well and arent to high priced, i believe they have been making cams as long as any one has, even dmax cams, and they are new cores, not regrinds, so no core chrage on them! There smal cam can be a drop in, but you better check to be sure as it is close, the bigger two require fly cutting, and yuo even get a cam card with it so you know what you bought and what its doing! Just an fyi!

Their price is in line (actually cheaper than my regrind but mine was custom spec'd) for what I've seen others charge for regrind. It's apples to oranges in comparing to the billet cams of SoCal and others. Of course the billet will be 2-3x more than a regrind.

Just read the article on Max'd Out in Diesel Power about that engine and tranny combo what a setup. I wonder how much they paid for that truck build. Going into the 9's is getting power out and down. Great reading for Dmax fans.
