So I was driving down the road then I hear a rattle and it died... go to start and it sounds awful....knock knock..grumble grumble...lbz... crankshaft position sensor dtc code. I tore the front clip off and I can't nessasarily wiggle the harmonic balancer...at all..should I keep tearing it apart? If the cranks broke I want to just pull the whole motor.. but if it's not I don't want to pull it. What's the easiest way to know for sure?

Did you remove and inspect your crankshaft position sensor? Maybe some interference there?
If the crank broke near enough to the front, the damper wiggle test may tell you what you need to know, but if it broke elsewhere not much help.

^This. Watch the flexplate and the balancer, if they don't move in time then the crank is toast.
