Nope wasn't a filled Block. Crank appeared to be fine but I didn't even both having it checked. I dropped off another block and crank already. The bearings looked ok. It was in for a line bore for main studs and a gridle. I'm glad I took it apart! I had assumed that this built engine had main studs but it did not. I found the cam gear on the crank wasn't even keyed.

Are the filled blocks cracking with or without sleeves? If they've got sleeves it's because they aren't installed right

I think Idaho Rob cracked more than one IIRC. They felt it was due to the Hard block...

Interesting way for the block mains to crack on this one.

If it's the one Curtis built for James I wouldn't have questioned Curtis' judgement either. He's built and tortured more duramaxes than I've laid eyes on. still

I cracked an 01 block in exactly the same way. I was doing all sorts of stacked stupidness at the time and had way too much timing in it. Finally spun a bearing and found the cracks during rebuild. Looked just like that.

I figured it would have had main studs for sure. It still had a stock balancer on it. Rods are good. Pistons look brand new. New block has main studs, Wagler gridle, 9100af cam and an ati balancer. Running 150 overs with a gt4718 as a single this season if I ever find time to put everything back together. Will be on the land shortly
