When in my E-mail, I try and attatch a file (log) to an E-mail, and get a message "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close". It then boots me off the net. Whats going on? How do I fix it, it's the first time this has happened.

Use Firefox or Google Chrome. Firefox is very universal and is built to run on multiple operating systems. Internet Explorer is a piece of crap, just like Vista and Microsofts ability to make a working anything. It could be from websites you've been on, add-ons, or maybe you did some updates and it had conflicts. Just go to www.mozilla.com and be done with it. I've been a Network Admin/Director of Tech for almost 10 years now, and have 4 years of college in me.....so I have some computer experience:)

n0useforaname, I'd recommend tracking down the cause of the issue instead of using crapware to cover it up.

There's nothing wrong with IE; It's all I use and I NEVER have any issues. Firefox SUCKS and I'll never touch it again (I've had far more stability and compatability issues with FF than I've ever had with IE), and Chrome is just another piece of Google crapware. Google Desktop is another one; I have had some customers complain to me that "Outlook is really slow". They had GD installed. When you click from message to message, it would take SECONDS to render each message. Shut down GD and guess what? Outlook works perfectly. And these where not old POS machines; they where Core 2 Duo 2.2Ghz+ with 2+GB RAM. I deal with this crap every day, and have done so do the last 10 or so years.

95% of all "IE Issues" that I've seen have been caused by addins, and probably 75% of those where GOOGLE addins. Try running IE in "No Add-ins" mode and see if that works. If it does, start looking at the addins that you have. If you have any google addins, get rid of them first. I'd recommend getting rid of ALL toolbars (Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc). It's also possible that even after uninstalling the "other" software, there will still be dll files registered in IE that would need to be manually un-registered.

I started using FF probably 4 or 5 years ago when I was having pop-up issues with IE. It totally killed the pop-ups, and I have never had any issues with it.
