last one I saw they were different:confused: At least between an lly and an lbz. Or the gear did not sit as close to the pump on the lbz.

I can't remember what year they changed it but, there are two designs of cam gear. The later one is a two piece that has 0 lash. The size and tooth pitch are the same though.

the lbz has the two piece gear, but i didnt mention that as like you said they both have the same tooth count and pitch. kinda like me saying the block is the same, they arent but as far as the mounting hole for the cp3 its identical.

im not arguing with you, more or less in agreement. basically expanding on there is no way the gear can be different in any way.

All that 2 piece gear is for is a dampening system, I believe. You can use either one if you choose so why can't you use either cp3 gear? I would agree they are the same gear aswell.

Yup cp3 gear works on either cam gear. The two piece gear is only take up backlash in the gears.

x2 the lbz i had the gear sat out a little farther from pump.. and i could not get it to roll in with the y bridge in.. swapped gears rolled right in.. but tooth count was the same.. but i guess i figured id just swap them.

Thank you, that is what I am talking about, I understand that the block an cam gear are the same... and the tooth count and such being the same. LBZ seemed offset more than the lly I had next to it. Good to know the interchangeability though.
