Super Diesel....Got any pics of your shim tools:hug:

Wish I still had it. I made it up quick one day in the shop. I don't have it or the shim stock any more unfortunately (shim stock, a set of shears and the edges cleaned up with a file). Lost alot of stuff over the last few years or so with a string of thefts that all started with a former friend (human trash) back in 06.

Well no dual fuel truck just yet, i suppose i can get my a flow meter and just do it! Any part numbers/vendor/etc on that flowmeter pat? If the pump is garbage, oh well i'll get a good pump or repair this one. So far i dont see any red flags as to it beein bad but i need to see the pump elements yet, could have one all scored or somthin.

And no biggie on the shims, ill figure somthin out, or use pat's method:D But with the shims you just slip them in between the crank and that frees the crank huh!

Yes you need to watch out for scoring. This was the #1 problem I found with these pumps.

Yes maybe they killed them by filling up with gas. Makes sense.

Also the feed goes straight into the pump, turns 180 deg. and goes straight to the suction pump where it makes another 180 deg. turn, and goes right back to the FPR for the most part then is conveinently split up in passages to go to be compressed in the pistons and also to lubricate the internals of the pump (this is a basic explanation only). This 70 or so psi the suction pump puts out is the reason (I believe) I found it made no differance in power produced or rail pressure held even if you ran a 120psi pump to it vs a 10 psi pump. Maybe it helped stop (control) valve float (or piston float in this case) by helping the piston to stay with the crank at realy high RPMs? No floating valve effect because it had help returning? This is the only advantage I ever thought of with this set up. My current set up (lift pump) puts out a wopping 11 psi when all pumps are on (staged w/boost control).

I thought is was a taper or something. :D What the heck, it was trash anyhow. Simon (Sweet Diesel) was over and I bashed the first one about 10 times with a sledge. Good times, good times. :D

They sure do have enough passages drilled in these suckers!

 a 4lb sledge! "damn, its not movin, go get the torch"

Thank you very much! We are working on a larger bore now. If we can maintain proper clearance, we can revive some of the dead soldiers.

Interesting. I was always afraid of getting that one way valve passage opened up to much (where the fluid is driven out of the cylinder) and to the high pressure side. I though it was to close to the wall of the cylinder itself and the tapper would start to gradually increase the larger you go on the bore (some time I don't explain myself to good). I'm trying to remember if this was it or something else. I hope you pull it off. Those cylinder walls are pretty hard.

By the way. My second fueler is made out of 3 different CP3s. All were test subjects. All I was able to retreive after the major theft a year+ ago that I'm trying to recover from.:angry4:

I agree, You fellas are top dog in the CP3 world!

I can only imagine the difficultys involved on pump machine work, the tolerances have got to be astronomical! Hope that works out for ya!

you need more fuel

I know exactly what you are talking about. The exhaust port for the plunger, and the check ball. If you don't get those exact, you get some bleed back and it will set high rail pressure codes from over pressurization. One companies CP3's does that. You really walk a fine line in keeping rail pressure in check with the sensor. The real key is to make as much pressure as fast as possible, the injectors don't like it  but we do.
