Not really any tricks, just remove the fender liner and unplug the WIF sensor at the bottom of the filter and then spin it off.

What kind of oil are you running? Also how are you reading your oil psi?

I run just plain 15-40 Delo with like 2 qts. of that Lucas oil stabilizer stuff and I stay at around 29 psi hot(over 200*)

I haven't noticed any different sound with different oils personally, and I've been using the lucas with no problems either. I knew a few other people are using it too

When I change my fuel filter I go in through the inner fender as well. Yep, just like LBZrcks said. You will have to prime once you get the fresh filter on. What I usually do is this:
Make sure filter is good and seated along with the WIF sensor
Pump the plunger with the bleed screw closed until the plunger is hard
Crack the bleed screw and let the air out
Tighten the bleed screw
Pump again until hard, crack the bleed, let the air/fuel out, close, pump until hard
I usually repeat this a few times until there is only fuel coming out when I crack the bleed screw. When just fuel comes out, close the bleed screw and pump until it's hard and start the truck and let it idle for a bit.

also helps if you unplug the the harness that connects to the wif sensor. and don't over tighten the sensor when you put it back on. thats about a 75 dollar mistake. also, If you got a coffe can or somthing similar, use that to catch excess fuel from the filter. just take your time. not hard.

Personally I don't like rotella. Pour the same amount of rotella and another brand on a piece of angled cardboard and see which one makes it to the ground first. But it's your truck run whatever oil you choose.

For the fuel filter make just tighten it up good and snug by hand then crack the bleeder screw and pump until fuel comes out. And it is easier for me to just take off the one bend of my intake and to in from the top. I've done probably 20 or so filters this way and never had a problem.

I may be crazy but I change mine from the top, just unplug, twist out, change the sensor, twist in, plug in. As for priming, just open the bleed screw and pump till fuel comes out, close it and fire her up, lotta extra steps mentioned above but I haven't had a problem yet, my '06 has 130k miles on her.

It was good enough for me. But like I said it's your truck run whatever you want.

i agree with you there, it is thin. but my dads drove a truck for 20 somethin odd years and always had rotella in it without problems. but of course thats a little different set up. i like castrol myself. any thoughts on their diesel oil?

I run their synthetic. When I switched from delo to castrol it seemed like some of the rattling from the motor went away. But that is just me.

Ya, I agree, I do mine from the top to, a little more tricky but you don't have to deal with taking the wheel liner out.:thumb:
